Tesco Plc, the UK's largest supermarket chain, has agreed to sell its hypermarket and supermarket businesses in the Czech Republic and Slovakia to Ahold Delhaize for an enterprise value of €1.7 billion (approximately £1.5 billion), as it continues to focus on its core UK operations. Tesco expects net proceeds of approximately €1.2 billion after tax and other costs, and plans to return these funds to shareholders.
