Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy announced it had intercepted two oil tankers in the southern waters of the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC stated through its media arm that the vessels had turned off all navigation and positioning systems and attempted to exit the strait via an "unauthorized route" with "U.S. military support." The statement noted that the tankers ignored multiple radio warnings, "entered a dangerous area," and "became involved in an incident" before being intercepted.
