Hormuz Strait shipping remains 70% below pre-war levels, despite slight uptick last week, UKMTO says
The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) agency reported 122 outbound and 155 inbound transits through the Strait of Hormuz in the week ending Friday, October 30. This figure is up from the previous week's 114 outbound and 127 inbound transits, but still approximately 70% below levels seen before the US and Israel launched their war on Iran. The agency also recorded three attacks in the strait during the period, noting that one ship required assistance, while the status of another remains unknown. Since the war began on February 28, at least 144 attacks have been reported in the Strait of Hormuz, the Gulf of Aden, and the Sea of Oman.
