GCC Secretary General Jasem Al-Budaiwi stated that the disruption of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab threatens global economic interests, and the international community must restore normal maritime traffic and hold those responsible for the attacks accountable. He pointed out that despite GCC member states not participating in the war against Iran and being committed to mediation and restraint, they have still suffered attacks from Iran targeting civilian and critical infrastructure. Al-Budaiwi emphasized that negotiations are the "firm choice" for resolving regional crises.
