Binance Empties Hacked XRP Wallet of Remaining $101 Million, Closing Activity on Vulnerable Address
Binance has completed the emptying of its compromised hot wallet, transferring the remaining 80 million XRP (approximately $101 million) in two transactions to a new corporate address. This final move effectively closes activity on the vulnerable address, which was labeled "Reported as hacked" after the October 29 attack. The incident, which saw 233.46 million XRP (around $296 million) initially withdrawn from XRP Ledger hot wallets, is part of a larger cross-chain attack estimated at $6.3 billion, making it the largest crypto theft in history. Binance has stated all net user losses will be compensated 1:1 from corporate reserves and the SAFU fund.
