The XRP Ledger (XRPL) is poised for a significant week as its long-awaited 'cleanup upgrade' (fixCleanup3_4_0 amendment) is scheduled for mainnet activation, potentially as early as November 4. This upgrade includes a wide range of fixes and improvements for Single Asset Vaults, the Lending Protocol, Automated Market Makers, permissioned DEX, trust lines, NFTs, MPTs, Escrow, Sponsorship, transaction signing, and permission delegation. Additionally, another upgrade, fixCleanup3_5_0, addressing exceptions in token storage rules, is awaiting validator support for future activation. Separately, Hussein Zangana (Vet), director of community at XRP Ledger Foundation, highlighted a critical Linux kernel vulnerability affecting unpatched Linux servers, with fixes already shipped for some distributions.
