Musk Limits Grok Bot Usage Due to "Unsustainably High" Operating Costs, After Previously Calling It the "Fastest-Growing Product of My Life"
Elon Musk confirmed in an X post on Sunday that SpaceX has restricted the use of Grok Bot due to its high operating costs relative to revenue. Although SpaceX's filings last month showed that AI accounted for 52% of the company's revenue and its "super-intelligent" division made a profit of $431 million, profits were affected by a one-time cost of $1.2 billion from the acquisition of Cursor. Musk has not yet announced how the usage restrictions for subscribers will be adjusted.
