Genmab, a Danish biotech company, saw its shares double in three months, including a 48% surge last week, following the disclosure of positive results from multiple Phase 3 cancer drug trials in October, CNBC reported. The report noted that Genmab is shifting from primarily relying on royalty income from partnered drugs to owning and commercializing more of its own drugs to retain a larger share of revenue. This model also means the company will bear more costs and risks associated with clinical trials, regulatory approvals, and commercialization. Genmab is scheduled to release its third-quarter results on November 5.
