According to Al Jazeera, Zeidon Alkinani, founding director of the Arab Institute for Cognition, stated that diplomacy and force between the US and Iran "are running in parallel" following the US's "defensive" strikes on Iran's Qeshm Island. Alkinani noted that diplomatic channels through Qatar have been open since March, but unfortunately, no fundamental breakthrough has been achieved yet. The analyst added that the outcome of the US midterm elections could alter Washington's "response and approach" to the conflict and Iran, and its importance should not be overlooked.
