Ethereum exchange supply drops after Binance hack, but data points to liquidity shift, not panic
U.Today reports that Ethereum's supply on exchanges has decreased since the Binance hack on October 29. On-chain data shows that from October 28 to November 2, the total supply of Ethereum held by exchanges dropped from 3.56% to 3.20%, a decrease of 0.36%. More than half of this decline occurred on October 29, the day of the Binance hack. However, the data is more indicative of a liquidity contraction rather than a panic sell-off, as Ethereum balances on top exchanges actually increased by approximately 39,000 ETH on October 29. The main decrease (about 313,000 ETH) occurred on November 1 and November 2, after withdrawal services were restored. Currently, Ethereum's price remains in a bearish state, trading near $2,264.
