Bitcoin Lightning Network LDK released a privacy fix on October 25, preventing probes that link private channels to on-chain funds.
A privacy fix was released on October 25 for the Bitcoin Lightning Network Development Kit (LDK), blocking a previous probe that could link unannounced channels to their on-chain funding outputs. The probe exploited how LDK forwards onion messages, allowing a guessed channel identifier to be converted into a confirmation of a connection between two suspicious nodes. LDK now refuses to resolve the true short channel ID (SCID) of unannounced channels for onion message forwarding, but valid aliases can still be used, thereby closing this lookup path.
