Anthropic's latest financial report reveals that computing costs as a percentage of revenue rose to 58% in the third quarter, leading to a deterioration in profit margins.
Anthropic on Monday released its latest financial filing (S-1A update), disclosing that for the third quarter ended September 30, the company's computing costs as a percentage of revenue rose from 48% in the previous quarter to 58%, leading to a deterioration in profit margins. Although revenue for the quarter reached $17 billion, up from $11.5 billion in the prior quarter, operating losses also increased. This was primarily due to the company having to procure short-term computing resources at higher prices to meet rapidly growing demand, causing computing expenses to surge to $10 billion.
