Research shows cheap online services once routed web traffic through White House-linked network
Cheap online services previously routed internet traffic through a network associated with the White House, according to research. Threat intelligence firm Layer3 Intel published a report stating that monitoring conducted between October 5 and November 3 recorded public online services routing internet traffic via six internet addresses and 28 services to a network linked to the White House connection (registered with ARIN as owned by the Executive Office of the President, ASN AS2650). Layer3 stated that it encountered the network while requesting global rotating residential proxy services, noting that this may stem from devices running proxy software, though its data did not confirm specific devices or individuals, nor did it prove any access to internal White House systems or networks.
