CCT, short for Carbon Credit Token, is a carbon credit token built on the Algorand blockchain, designed to tokenize regulated European Union Emissions Allowances (EUAs) in order to lower the barrier to entry for retail investors in the carbon market. The project was launched in March 2022, with each CCT token representing approximately 1 kilogram of carbon emissions. As of July 2026, CCT faces extremely low liquidity and a massive price decline; its current price has fallen by more than 99% from its all-time high, and the market generally views it as a high-risk asset. Despite its innovative concept, investors should be wary of its high volatility and uncertainty.
