Trezor Hardware Wallets: Security Features, Product Line, and Market Position

As one of the first commercial cryptocurrency hardware wallets, Trezor has been renowned for its open-source design and offline private key storage since its launch in 2014. Its product line includes the Model One, Model T, and the latest Safe series, such as the Safe 3—which incorporates a secure element—and the flagship Safe 7, featuring IP67 protection. As of April 2026, Trezor has sold over 2 million devices, capturing approximately 28% of the global hardware wallet market. Although a laboratory-level vulnerability in the Safe 7’s chip was recently disclosed, Trezor emphasizes that user funds are not at risk and remains committed to providing secure self-custody solutions through ongoing updates to Trezor Suite.
