Svmuu News: South Korea’s KOSPI index fell 5% as investors rushed to close out AI-related positions. The index is currently extending its four-week losing streak and has fallen 28% from its all-time high on June 22. This sell-off highlights investors’ anxiety over the market’s growing reliance on leveraged bets on AI chip manufacturers. South Korea has become a key barometer of enthusiasm for the AI boom, and as market sentiment turns negative, the country is feeling downward pressure.
“Although South Korea remains our top-pick market in our allocation model, we are downgrading our rating from ‘Overweight’ to ‘Neutral’ due to ongoing market volatility,” said Citigroup analysts, who maintained their 10,000-point target for the South Korean KOSPI index. (Jin Shi)

Using ChinaSoft International’s self-developed enterprise intelligent operating system, the AllMeta platform, combined with Dark Side of the Moon’s K2.7 Code and K3 models—along with subsequent iterations—as the core technological foundation, the two parties will jointly advance the innovation and large-scale commercial deployment of enterprise-level intelligent agent technologies, products, and solutions in industries such as energy and power, as well as finance. Svmuu News: Prominent trader Ansem asked data providers such as Blockworks on X, “Has anyone ever tallied exactly how many liquid funds there are in the crypto space, and what their total assets under management (AUM) are?”
Blockworks co-founder Jason Yanowitz replied: “I’d guess there are about 800 globally. I have 470 on my list (there were 1,500 as of early 2022), but there are likely another 40%–50% of funds that haven’t disclosed their information. Currently, about 250 are active, though most have very small assets under management—for example, small funds managed by two founders with AUM of perhaps just $10 million… The bulk of AUM is actually concentrated in the hands of just a few funds.”

Svmuu News: Hyperliquid has announced that HIP-4 will support permissionless deployment in a future network upgrade, starting on the testnet and then moving to the mainnet. The staking requirement for HIP-4 deployers is 500,000 HYPE. If a market is not clearly defined, settlement does not comply with the template requirements, or settlement remains outstanding for more than one week, the staked amount will be deducted via a validator vote. As with HIP-3, the deployer’s staked funds will be locked for 6 months. To unstake, deployers must settle all markets. HIP-4 deployers will be able to set fee splits of up to 50% in deployed markets, and fee configuration features will be rolled out in future updates.

According to PPP’s prediction market monitoring, the probability of “Yes” in the prediction event “Will the U.S. government ban open-source AI models in 2026?” on Polymarket is currently reported at 16%.
According to the settlement rules, if the U.S. federal government restricts the U.S. public’s access to or use of a specific open-source AI model through legislation, executive orders, export controls, or other formal policy actions before December 31, 2026, the market outcome will be determined as “Yes.” Otherwise, the market outcome will be ruled “No.” Eligible open-source AI models refer to general-purpose large language models or multimodal foundation models whose model weights and source code are publicly available for download and can run on hardware under the user’s independent control, such as Meta Llama, Mistral, DeepSeek, and Qwen.
The recent release of the open-source Kimi K3 model by Dark Side of the Moon has sparked market concern over whether it will disrupt proprietary AI. Dean W. Ball, Head of Strategy at OpenAI, previously stated on X that the U.S. government might employ soft legal measures to block open-source models from entering the United States, while David Sacks, Chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, believes that using regulatory uncertainty to stifle open-source competition is “unacceptable.”

Svmuu News: Hedge funds’ short positions in the New Zealand dollar have risen to a record high, as they believe the recent rebound in global oil prices may exacerbate domestic economic pressures in New Zealand. Data from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) shows that for the week ending July 14, leveraged funds’ net short positions in the New Zealand dollar increased by 1,907 contracts to 29,582 contracts, the highest level since 2006. This bearish stance contrasts with the recent rebound in the New Zealand dollar, which was primarily driven by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand’s hawkish policy stance.
Furthermore, investor concerns about New Zealand’s energy-import-dependent economy are reflected in these short bets, as escalating tensions between the U.S. and Iran have pushed crude oil prices back above $90 per barrel. The oil price shock could further worsen the country’s trade balance, as New Zealand narrowly avoided a trade deficit last month while domestic consumer spending declined. (Jin Shi)
