Svmuu News: The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) issued a revised circular today requiring leveraged and inverse products—whose capacity is highly susceptible to changes in market conditions—to adopt a flexible leverage structure. Under this structure, the leverage ratio may be adjusted daily within the existing caps (i.e., 2x for leveraged products and -2x for inverse products). Consequently, product providers may lower the target leverage ratio of these products when necessary, thereby providing greater flexibility to manage the products during periods of high trading volume. The leverage multiples for these products on the following trading day will be disclosed after the market closes each day. The potential daily adjustments to leverage multiples will also help reinforce investors’ understanding that leveraged and inverse products are single-day products, reminding them that these products are not suitable for holding for more than one day. The committee recommended that this self-regulatory organization, operating under the direct supervision of the Reserve Bank of India or the Securities and Exchange Board of India, should enforce standardized codes of conduct covering consumer protection, platform transparency, and token disclosure standards, and be responsible for auditing exchange reserves, mandating the segregation of client funds from corporate funds, and establishing channels for handling user complaints. The committee also emphasized that this interim mechanism must operate under the strict supervision of the central bank or the securities regulator to address macroeconomic risks such as cross-border capital flows, the dollarization of stablecoins, tax evasion, and violations of foreign exchange regulations.

Svmuu News: Kenyan police have dismantled a telecommunications fraud operation in the Kilimani district of Nairobi and arrested and deported a group of Chinese nationals suspected of telecommunications fraud. For some time now, criminal syndicates involved in cross-border telecommunications fraud and online gambling have been accelerating their shift and infiltration into the African region. Some criminals lease apartments and private residences under the guise of offering high-paying jobs or business partnerships to set up illegal operations, recruiting people from all over to engage in cross-border fraud. This not only disrupts local social order but also poses a significant threat to the personal safety, property security, and normal daily lives of all Chinese nationals in Kenya.
The Chinese Embassy in Kenya solemnly urges all Chinese nationals in Kenya to: 1. Strictly abide by the law; 2. Actively participate in joint prevention and governance; and 3. Guard against telephone fraud scams.

Svmuu News: The European Union has further tightened restrictions on crypto assets targeting Belarus, prohibiting Belarusian citizens and residents from owning, controlling, or managing crypto service providers regulated under the Market in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).
According to Council Decision (CFSP) 2026/1847, adopted by the Council of the European Union on July 24, this measure expands the EU’s sanctions framework targeting Belarus’s involvement in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The new regulations will officially take effect on July 24, with the expanded restrictions on the crypto industry set to take effect on August 25.
As defined by MiCA, the scope of affected services includes operating crypto trading platforms, crypto asset exchanges, executing and transmitting client orders, crypto asset issuance services, asset transfer services, investment advice, and portfolio management. These restrictions come as the MiCA transition period ended on July 1. The EU had previously required unauthorized crypto firms to cease related operations or face regulatory enforcement.
The EU stated that this expansion of restrictions is part of its efforts to combat the use of crypto platforms to circumvent sanctions against Russia. Previously, in its 21st round of sanctions against Russia, the EU had expanded the trading ban to 14 non-EU crypto-related service platforms and established a mechanism allowing for future bans on transactions with any foreign crypto service providers deemed to be helping Russia circumvent sanctions.
Market observers note that with the full implementation of the MiCA regulatory framework, the EU is further strengthening its regulatory control over the crypto industry through licensing systems and sanctions mechanisms. (Cointelegraph)

Svmuu News: Two government departments have issued an announcement regarding matters related to individual income tax on offshore trusts.
