Svmuu News: BlackRock, Coinbase, Strategy, Anchorage Digital, ARK Invest, Block, Blockstream, Fidelity Digital Assets, and Galaxy have formed the Bitcoin Security Consortium, committing a total of $15 million over three years to fund security research and open-source development for the Bitcoin, with a focus on quantum computing defenses.
The consortium does not hold or allocate funds; each member will directly select the developers and researchers to fund. The consortium stated that it will not direct the development of Bitcoin nor take a position on protocol changes; Mike Schmidt, a developer who funds the nonprofit organization Brink, will coordinate the relevant work on a volunteer basis.
Currently, no quantum computer exists capable of breaking the cryptography of Bitcoin. Approximately 6.9 million BTC, valued at $450 billion, are stored in addresses that could be affected should such a quantum computer emerge; addressing this issue would require coordination among multiple parties, including wallets, exchanges, miners, and users.
Relevant efforts include proposals such as BIP 360, which designs a new output type to limit public key exposure and works in conjunction with post-quantum signature schemes. Robert Mitchnick, Head of Digital Assets at BlackRock, stated that Core developers are engaged in important work and that the organization will provide additional funding to ensure the long-term security of Bitcoin.

Svmuu News: The European Union (EU) has expanded the scope of its sanctions against Russia, targeting the A7 cross-border payment network and its newly established African affiliates, as well as the A7A5 stablecoin, which has been used to circumvent sanctions.
The latest sanctions package extends the transaction ban to 14 crypto-related platforms in countries such as Georgia, the United Arab Emirates, and Panama, and introduces a tool that can be used to comprehensively prohibit crypto asset services used by Russia.
In addition to the digital asset measures, the EU has imposed asset freezes and transaction bans on 94 banks and major financial institutions, and has expanded the transaction ban to include an additional 33 Russian credit and financial institutions.

Svmuu News: B2C2, a crypto market maker in which SBI Holdings holds a 90% stake, has been in acquisition talks with several potential buyers over the past 18 months.
The negotiations have been hampered by disagreements over valuation. B2C2 is seeking a transaction price exceeding $1 billion, but a source familiar with the matter said that price is difficult to achieve given the current crypto market conditions.
These negotiations are taking place against the backdrop of consolidation in the digital asset industry, where many companies are expanding their institutional businesses and scaling up through acquisitions.

Svmuu News: NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang engaged in a wide-ranging and in-depth discussion with AXIOS co-founder Mike Allen on the current state of artificial intelligence. Huang noted that although the chip industry has long been subject to cycles of boom and bust, “this time is different.”Even considering the chip industry’s historically highly cyclical fluctuations (as shown in the figure), the current boom still has room to grow.
When asked whether the industry is on the verge of a downturn, Huang replied, “No, that won’t happen for some time. This time is different because it is not demand-driven.” Huang Renxun further explained that the current AI boom is not driven by consumer demand, which has long been the industry’s primary driver. The current AI boom is industry-driven, meaning that the core technology of computers is undergoing a transformation. We need to establish an entirely new layer of infrastructure on a global scale. We already have energy, the internet, roads, and railways; now we need to build an “intelligence layer”—that is, an additional layer of infrastructure on top of these foundations. And this layer of infrastructure relies on chips. I believe our semiconductor industry may need to be five to ten times larger than it is now… The industry is currently too small.Everything is in extreme short supply because this is not a cyclical issue, nor is it driven by consumer demand; rather, it stems from fundamental, infrastructure-related factors. Consequently, the entire industry is facing shortages. I believe we must scale up this industry several-fold. (Jin Shi)

Svmuu News: The AI Standards and Innovation Center, under the U.S. Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the UK’s AI Safety Institute, conducted tests on the Kimi K3’s cyberattack capabilities and emphasized that “the U.S. remains in the lead.”
However, the validity of this assessment is disputed due to limitations in the scope of testing. Because of constraints in the hosting environment, Kimi K3 participated in only a portion of the tests; its overall cyber capabilities were estimated primarily based on 41 exploit benchmarks, whereas other models underwent more comprehensive testing, resulting in a wider margin of error for Kimi K3’s results.
In the exploit testing, Kimi K3 scored approximately 32%, higher than GLM-5.2’s 24%, but lower than the average of about 76% achieved by leading U.S. models. In simulated attack chain tests, Kimi K3 completed an average of 17 out of 32 steps in an attack chain and successfully breached the network once out of 10 attempts, while leading U.S. models completed an average of 28.5 steps.
The report notes that Kimi K3 has demonstrated a certain degree of autonomous attack capability, and its security safeguards did not prevent the model from developing vulnerabilities or executing attacks. However, the report also emphasizes that the scope of the testing was limited.

Svmuu News: On July 22, the Sui Foundation and Mysten Labs launched the Hashi testnet for the Bitcoin collateral protocol, which allows BTC to serve as collateral for on-chain lending and credit markets without being wrapped into synthetic tokens or bridged across chains.
Hashi maintains Bitcoin on the Bitcoin network. Deposits are protected by a 2-of-2 multisignature mechanism, requiring simultaneous signatures from Hashi’s multi-party computation validators and an independent Guardian Layer. Loan terms and collateral positions are recorded on-chain, allowing lenders to verify the collateral backing.
More than 25 institutional partners are currently testing Hashi’s lending and credit applications, including Bitgo, Cumberland, FalconX, Ledger, Blockdaemon, Bullish, and the Sui ecosystem lending platforms Navi and Scallop.Wave Digital Assets has committed to advancing a three-year tokenization program for Sui-based “Bitcoin” yield bonds following Hashi’s mainnet launch.
Hashi has not yet announced a mainnet launch date. Sui announced the Hashi development network phase in March, positioning the protocol as a solution to enhance capital efficiency in the approximately $1.4 trillion Bitcoin market.

Svmuu News: In the Futu Holdings and Tiger Securities U.S. stock options insider trading case, two defendants—an individual and an investment firm—had previously come forward; now, a third defendant has emerged in an effort to have his assets unfrozen.According to a statement filed with a U.S. court on July 23, the third defendant to come forward is Yang Jingyao, whose Chinese name is Yang Jingyao and who has been a resident of Hong Kong since 2020.Yang Jingyao stated, “My personal assets far exceed my personal debts,” and “I have no outstanding debts.” According to public filings with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the single largest shareholder of Hong Kong-listed Rongzun International—and the offeror in a previous mandatory general offer—is also named “Yang Jingyao.”
HKEXThe documents show that Yang Jingyao of Rongzun International is currently 32 years old, and his mother is a wealthy individual from mainland China.Yang Jingyao is described as a businessman and private investor who has long invested in listed securities, information technology companies, startups, and other financial assets through brokers and wholly-owned private investment companies established in Hong Kong and the British Virgin Islands. However, there is currently no public evidence indicating that the securities accounts or funds subject to the U.S. court injunction are related to the expiration of Rongzun International’s offer. Svmuu News: With the sharp correction in the price of Bitcoin, publicly traded companies that had heavily stockpiled BTC are now facing multiple challenges, including falling stock prices, debt pressures, and a deteriorating financing environment. Some companies have begun selling Bitcoin to repay debts or are even shifting their focus to artificial intelligence (AI) data center operations.
Strategy was the first to introduce the “Digital Asset Treasury (DAT)” model, using financing and borrowing to continuously purchase Bitcoin, prompting a number of publicly traded companies to follow suit. However, as the price of BTC has retreated from the high of approximately $126,000 reached in October 2025—a cumulative decline of about 50%—the stock prices of these companies have also plummeted, forcing them to reassess their Bitcoin hoarding strategies.
This week, shareholders of the London-listed company Satsuma Technology approved the liquidation of all 668 BTC and the return of capital, while also proceeding with delisting. Another London-listed company, The Smarter Web Company, sold 178 BTC to repay convertible debt.
Additionally, Sequans Communications has sold 1,025 BTC and will sell nearly 80% of its remaining holdings to repay convertible bonds. The company stated it will not continue purchasing "Bitcoin" in the future and plans to sell its remaining approximately 658 BTC.
Since its SPAC listing in May 2025, Nakamoto’s stock price has fallen by approximately 99% in total. The company recently sold about 284 BTC, raising approximately $20 million for working capital.Of the company’s remaining approximately 5,342 BTC, nearly 70% has been used as collateral for Kraken loans, leading market observers to believe it faces potential risk events.
Meanwhile, Bitcoins mining firms have also begun adjusting their strategies. Companies such as Bitdeer Technologies and MARA Holdings are selling portions of their BTC holdings to repurchase shares, repay debt, and redirect energy resources and computing power infrastructure toward AI data center operations.
Other companies selling BTC include Empery Digital and others. Data shows that Strategy has recently sold approximately 3,620 BTC and authorized further asset sales to maintain its U.S. dollar reserves.
However, Strategy remains the world’s largest publicly traded holder of Bitcoin, with a position exceeding 840,000 BTC. The company’s CEO, Michael Saylor, stated that it may sell a portion of its Bitcoin holdings in the future to pay dividends, but this does not mean the company is exiting its investment in Bitcoin.
In addition to asset adjustments, changes have also occurred in the management and capital operations of some Bitcoin treasury companies. Jack Mallers has stepped down as CEO; Adam Back’s Bitcoin Standard Treasury Company (BSTR) also failed to complete its proposed merger due to deteriorating market conditions.
Analysts believe that as financing costs rise and BTC price volatility intensifies, the “borrow to buy” treasury model is undergoing a shakeup, with some companies shifting from simply hoarding Bitcoin to AI infrastructure and business transformations that generate stronger cash flow. (CoinDesk)

Svmuu News: Analysts at Rabobank have warned that the preliminary U.S. July PMI figures, set to be released tonight, may not fully reflect recent geopolitical developments and changes in the commodities market. The analysts noted that the July survey was likely completed within the past two weeks; therefore, if a significant number of respondents answered earlier, they may not have fully taken into account the current developments in the Middle East or the impact of this week’s rise in oil prices, which could lead to a bias in the survey results.
