BNBUP Token Overview and Current Status
BNBUP is a leveraged token (Binance Leveraged Token, BLVT) launched by Binance (Binance) on August 4, 2020.Rather than holding BNB directly, it represents a basket of perpetual contracts pegged to the price of BNB, designed to provide users with approximately 1.25x leveraged exposure to changes in the price of BNB. This means that when the price of BNB rises by 1%, BNBUP will theoretically rise by 1.25%.

However, as of July 21, 2026, BNBUP is no longer an active trading asset. On February 19, 2024, Binance announced that it would discontinue trading and subscription support for leveraged tokens such as BNBUP effective February 28, 2024.Users were informed that they could redeem their BLVT holdings by April 3, 2024. After this date, any BLVT that had not been redeemed was converted to USDT by Binance based on its net asset value (NAV) and distributed to users’ accounts.
How BNBUP Works and Its Risks

Binance Leveraged tokens are designed to provide a simplified way to trade with leverage, allowing users to avoid managing margin or facing liquidation risks. However, Binance has also emphasized that these leveraged tokens are better suited for betting on short-term market movements and are not suitable for long-term holding. This is because, in the absence of favorable market momentum, leveraged tokens have an inherent erosion mechanism, causing their value to decline over time.
The launch of BNBUP also sparked controversy in the market at the time, with some traders suffering losses because they did not fully understand its complex structure and risks. Binance’s decision to delist this product was part of its regular review of products and services, aimed at retaining projects that provide the greatest value and competitiveness to users.

Future Prospects for BNBUP
Given that Binance ceased trading and subscriptions for BNBUP in February 2024 and completed the redemption or forced conversion of all remaining tokens to USDT in April 2024, BNBUP no longer has a future as an independent, tradable crypto asset.Currently, any data regarding BNBUP’s price or trading volume—unless it is historical data—may originate from inactive markets or platforms that are no longer updated, and thus has no practical reference value.

For investors, understanding the lifecycle of crypto assets is crucial. The case of BNBUP demonstrates that even products issued by well-known platforms may have their support discontinued due to market conditions, product characteristics, or regulatory considerations. Therefore, when investing in any cryptocurrency, one should fully understand its mechanisms, risks, and the latest announcements from the issuer.
