Puffer Finance (PUFFER) and Its Perpetual Contracts
Puffer Finance is a decentralized native liquidity re-staking protocol (nLRP) built on EigenLayer. Its core objective is to lower the barrier to staking Ethereum and increase its profitability. The protocol allows users to participate in staking with as little as 1–2 ETH, while earning ETH staking rewards, EigenLayer re-staking rewards, and Puffer Finance’s own rewards.

Technical Features and Ecosystem Development
- Anti-Slashing Technology: Puffer Finance employs advanced anti-slashing technology designed to significantly reduce the risks associated with staking, thereby encouraging more independent validators to participate and further enhancing the decentralization and security of the Ethereum network.
- Comprehensive Infrastructure: As the project has evolved, Puffer Finance has expanded from its origins as a liquidity re-staking protocol into a comprehensive Ethereum infrastructure project. This includes UniFi-based rollups and preconfirmation services, designed to address liquidity fragmentation on Ethereum and provide instant settlement and sub-second transaction experiences.
- Institutional Partnerships: On March 12, 2026, Puffer Finance partnered with Anchorage Digital, a federally regulated crypto bank, to provide institutional clients with regulated access to its liquidity re-staking token, pufETH. This marks a significant step forward in institutional adoption.
PUFFER Token and Market Performance

The PUFFER token was launched in late 2024 with a total supply of 1 billion tokens. As of this writing (July 2026), its Total Value Locked (TVL) stands at approximately $47,955,827.It is worth noting that Puffer Finance’s TVL surpassed $1 billion in February 2024 and exceeded $1.26 billion in 2025; the current figures reflect significant volatility. The PUFFER token’s all-time high was $0.9908 (December 7, 2024), while its all-time low was $0.01229 (July 20, 2026).with the current price hovering around the $0.058–$0.059 range and a market capitalization of approximately $6.45 million. As of April 2024, Puffer Finance had raised a total of $24.15 million in funding.
Perpetual Contract Trading
PUFFER/USDT perpetual contracts have been listed on multiple trading platforms, including OKX, Bybit, Bitget, and MEXC. Among these, OKX and Bitget launched the contract on October 14, 2024.It is worth noting that Binance (Binance) also listed PUFFER U-denominated perpetual contracts on June 3, 2025, but delisted them on April 8, 2026—a move that caused significant volatility in the price of PUFFER.Puffer Finance’s official website and social media accounts were compromised by a security breach on August 20, 2025.
The market generally views Puffer Finance as a specialized DeFi product best suited for experienced DeFi users who understand the risks of re-staking. High funding rates in the perpetual contracts market may indicate strong demand for leveraged long positions, but they also carry the risk of sharp price reversals.

Verified USD (USDV) Stablecoin
Verified USD (USDV) is a community-driven, native, full-chain stablecoin designed to maintain a 1:1 peg to the U.S. dollar.Unlike traditional stablecoins, the term “USDV contract” does not refer to a perpetual contract, but rather to the smart contract of the USDV stablecoin itself and its use as collateral or a trading pair within DeFi protocols. USDV was launched by the Verified USD Foundation on November 14, 2023.
Technical Features and Transparency

- Asset Backing: USDV is backed 1:1 by tokenized short-term U.S. Treasury bonds and repurchase agreements. Its underlying reserve assets—such as Matrixport’s short-term Treasury bond token (STBT)—can be verified in real time on-chain, ensuring a high degree of transparency.
- Full-Chain Interoperability: USDV adheres to the ERC-20 standard and integrates LayerZero’s Omnichain Fungible Token (OFT) standard to enable cross-chain interoperability, aiming to reduce cross-chain risks and enhance liquidity.
- Security Audits: USDV’s open-source smart contracts have been audited by third-party security firms such as OtterSec, Zellic.io, and Paladin.
- Incentive Mechanism: USDV has introduced the ColorTrace value attribution algorithm developed by LayerZero Labs, which proportionally rewards contributors based on their actual contributions to the ecosystem—such as adding USDV as collateral or creating trading pairs within the protocol—with the goal of building a self-sustaining community ecosystem.
USDV’s Market Performance and Challenges
USDV is designed to be pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar, but as of this writing (July 2026), its price has experienced slight fluctuations; for example, the current price ranges from approximately $0.2195 to $0.37686,with an all-time high of $1.20 or $1.33 (March 26, 2024), indicating that maintaining its peg remains a challenge. Its market capitalization and 24-hour trading volume are relatively small; for example, Coinbase shows a market cap of approximately $1.04 million and a 24-hour trading volume of about $7.03, while CoinMarketCap lists a market cap of approximately $33,420 and a 24-hour trading volume of about $23.These discrepancies may reflect differences in statistical methodologies or liquidity issues. The lower market capitalization and trading volume suggest that USDV, as an emerging player, still needs to make further progress in terms of liquidity and market acceptance.

USDV aims to address the trust and security issues of traditional stablecoins through real-world asset (RWA) collateralization and on-chain transparency. Its unique ColorTrace incentive mechanism is designed to fairly reward ecosystem contributors and promote ecosystem growth. However, its current market performance suggests that USDV still faces challenges regarding liquidity and price-anchor stability on its path to realizing its vision.
