What is QASH? The Core Token of the Liquid Platform
QASH (pronounced “cash”) is the native utility token of the Liquid platform (formerly Quoine).Liquid is a global cryptocurrency company whose core objective is to address the widespread lack of liquidity in the crypto investment space. By building a mechanism called the “World Book,” the Liquid platform aims to aggregate all global liquidity sources to form a highly liquid, tradable order book.

QASH was initially issued as an ERC-20 token based on the Ethereum. Its issuer, QUOINE, was one of the first cryptocurrency companies globally to receive official licensing from Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA), which provides a crucial compliance foundation for its operations.The Liquid platform integrates the Quoinex and Qryptos trading platforms to provide users with more comprehensive trading services.
Key Uses and Functions of QASH

As the core token of the Liquid platform, QASH has multiple practical functions:
- Means of Payment: QASH can be used to pay for various services on the Liquid platform, including trading fees and Prime Brokerage fees.
- Discounts and Incentives: QASH holders have the opportunity to receive trading fee discounts offered by the platform, participate in promotional activities, and gain priority access to invest in ICO projects launched by the platform.
- Ecosystem Participation: QASH is designed to foster the development of the Liquid ecosystem and encourage user participation.
The QUOINE team had planned to launch its own QASH blockchain in the second quarter of 2019. This blockchain was to incorporate industry-specific requirements for the financial sector and support smart contracts and multiple programming languages for developing DApps, with a target throughput of 100,000 transactions per second; however, no public updates have been released regarding the progress of this initiative.

QASH’s Token Economics and Supply
QASH’s token economics model is as follows:
- Total Supply: The total supply of QASH is set at 1,000,000,000 (1 billion).
- Circulating Supply: As of August 19, 2026, QASH’s circulating supply was approximately 813.1 million, accounting for about 81.3% of the total supply.

In terms of token allocation, 30% of QASH tokens were allocated to the community and ecosystem, 20% were held by the team and investors, and another 15% were allocated to strategic partners and institutional buyers. Members of the QUOINE team have extensive experience in the financial and technology sectors, having previously worked at well-known companies such as Goldman Sachs, Bloomberg, and Credit Suisse.
