What is AAB Coin? Introduction to AAX Exchange Token
AAB Coin, full name AAX Token, was the native exchange token issued by the AAX cryptocurrency exchange. It was based on the Ethereum network, followed the ERC-20 standard, and was a core component of the AAX ecosystem. AAX Exchange launched in November 2019 and was once the world's first cryptocurrency trading platform powered by LSEG Technology, a technology provider for the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG). It aimed to connect digital assets with traditional finance, serving both retail and professional traders.

Core Functions and Economic Model of AAB Coin
During the normal operation of AAX Exchange, AAB Coin provided holders with several practical functions and benefits:
- Trading Fee Discounts: Users holding AAB could enjoy up to a 50% discount on trading fees on the AAX platform.
- Exclusive Service Unlocks: AAB could be used to unlock exclusive services on the platform, such as trading bots and trading signals.
- Yield Enhancement: Holding AAB could also increase user yields on AAX's lending and savings products.
- Participation in Financial Products: AAB holders had the opportunity to participate in various financial products and schemes offered by AAX.

Furthermore, AAX had planned to implement a deflationary model for AAB. According to the plan, AAX would use its trading fee revenue to repurchase and burn AAB daily from the secondary market until half of the total supply (50 million tokens), or 25 million AAB, was burned. This mechanism aimed to support the long-term value of AAB by reducing the circulating supply.
AAX Exchange Suspension of Operations and the Current Status of AAB Coin
The value of AAB Coin was closely linked to the operational status of AAX Exchange. However, starting in November 2022, AAX Exchange experienced significant changes:
- November 13, 2022: AAX Exchange suddenly announced the suspension of operations, stating that it would take 7-10 days to restore user assets.
- November 28, 2022: The Vice President of AAX cryptocurrency exchange announced his resignation.

These events marked the effective shutdown of AAX Exchange. With the cessation of services from its core platform, the various practical functions and value basis of AAB Coin were also lost. Although historical data shows that AAB had a public offering price of 1 USDT (April 14, 2020) and reached an all-time high of $4.89 on May 12, 2021 (another record shows $1.0622 on June 23, 2022), these are now historical figures. After AAX Exchange suspended operations, AAB Coin lost its primary application scenarios and liquidity support.
AAB Coin Value Analysis and Risk Warning
From the current perspective, AAB Coin no longer possesses its original value as an AAX exchange token. Since its issuer, AAX Exchange, has ceased operations, the utility of AAB Coin has become zero. Although some market data platforms may still display its price and a small trading volume, these data often reflect a market with extremely low liquidity and may contain data anomalies. For example, as of the time of writing, market platforms like Svmuu show its price fluctuating around $0.66, but its 24-hour trading volume has shown huge discrepancies at different times, ranging from hundreds of thousands of dollars to just $0.01, indicating extremely low and unreliable market activity.

The value of an exchange token is typically highly tied to the performance and development prospects of its associated platform, and it lacks legal regulation. When a platform ceases operations, the value of its exchange token faces a significant risk of plummeting to zero. Therefore, AAB Coin currently has no reliable active trading channels, and investors should be fully aware of its extremely high risks.
