According to the China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd., passenger traffic in the Yangtze River Delta region remained high on that day, with an estimated 3.4 million passengers transported. During the New Year’s Day holiday travel period (December 31 to January 2), the railway system transported a cumulative total of 9.831 million passengers, with a daily average of approximately 3.277 million passengers. Transportation operations were safe, smooth, and orderly. On January 1, the Shanghai Railway Group transported 3.766 million passengers, setting a new single-day record for passenger volume during the New Year’s holiday period. (CCTV News)
