On January 3 local time, Saudi Arabia stated that it welcomed the request made by Rashad Al-Arimi, Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Council, to hold a comprehensive conference in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, inviting political and social forces from southern Yemen to engage in dialogue and explore a just solution to the issues facing the south. The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Saudi Arabia calls on all constituent forces in southern Yemen to actively participate in this conference to develop a comprehensive approach to resolving southern issues through dialogue, thereby addressing the legitimate demands of the southern population. The statement noted that Saudi Arabia’s response to this request reflects the close ties between the two countries and aligns with their mutual interests under the current circumstances. It also emphasized that this move is part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to support and promote security and stability in the Republic of Yemen.
