The facility had been occupied by the Islamic State and was likely used to store weapons and explosives. The statement noted that British and French warplanes carried out a joint airstrike on the facility on the evening of the 3rd, with initial indications suggesting the target had been destroyed. The statement also noted that there were no civilians living in the area surrounding the facility, and the airstrike posed no danger to civilians.
