The State Council has issued the "Action Plan for Comprehensive Management of Solid Waste" to further advance the comprehensive management of phosphogypsum. The "one-site-one-plan" approach will be adopted to advance the identification and remediation of environmental risks at phosphogypsum storage sites. Environmental management will be strengthened across all stages of phosphogypsum storage, transportation, and utilization. Technical specifications for pollution control in phosphogypsum utilization and safe storage will be strictly enforced, and environmental violations related to phosphogypsum will be rigorously investigated and punished in accordance with the law. By 2027, regions including Yunnan, Hubei, Guizhou, Sichuan, Anhui, and Chongqing will complete the remediation of existing phosphogypsum storage sites.
