In 2025, both power generation and electricity demand within the Southern Power Grid’s operating area saw significant growth. In Yunnan, annual renewable energy generation increased by approximately 14% year-on-year. In the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, industries such as the digital economy and advanced manufacturing flourished, driving inelastic growth in electricity demand and propelling Guangdong to become the first province in the country to exceed 160 million kilowatts in electricity load.
