State Administration of Foreign Exchange: Strengthening Oversight of Foreign Exchange Market Transactions and Continuing to Crack Down on Illegal Cross-Border Financial Activities
The 2026 National Conference on Foreign Exchange Management was held in Beijing on January 5–6. The conference emphasized the need to strengthen analysis and assessment of foreign exchange conditions, enhance macroprudential management and expectations management in response to evolving circumstances, and maintain the stable operation of the foreign exchange market. Efforts will be made to further consolidate and strengthen foreign exchange supervision, and to improve the capacity and standards of regulatory oversight in the context of economic openness. Regulation of trading activities in the foreign exchange market will be strengthened. Efforts to crack down on illegal cross-border financial activities will continue.
