A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, will visit Ethiopia, Somalia, Tanzania, and Lesotho from January 7 to 12 at the invitation of those countries, and will attend the opening ceremony of the “China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges” at the African Union headquarters. This marks the 36th consecutive year that a Chinese foreign minister has made Africa the first stop of their overseas visits at the beginning of the year. (Ministry of Foreign Affairs)
