Barclays invests in the stablecoin settlement platform Ubyx
Barclays has made its first investment in a stablecoin-related company—the U.S.-based stablecoin clearing platform Ubyx—though the specific amount of the investment was not disclosed. Ryan Hayward, Head of Digital Assets and Strategic Investments at Barclays, said: “As the token, blockchain, and wallet sectors continue to evolve, specialized expertise will play a key role in providing connectivity and infrastructure to enable seamless interaction for regulated financial institutions. This investment aligns with Barclays’ approach to exploring opportunities based on new forms of digital currency, such as stablecoins.” (Cointelegraph)
