Svmuu News: Vitalik Buterin posted on social media analyzing the difference between the “corposlop web” (corporate trash content web) and the “sovereign web.” He defined “corposlop” as a combination of corporate optimization capabilities, a seemingly respectable brand image, and unscrupulous behavior aimed at maximizing profits. Vitalik Buterin described “corposlop” as a soulless, trend-chasing, homogenized product that is both malicious and shoddy. He noted that the meaning of “sovereignty” has expanded today; it no longer refers solely to avoiding government coercion, but also means protecting digital privacy through cryptography and shielding one’s thoughts from corporate information warfare designed to extract users’ attention and money. He called on developers to build more sovereign tools, such as: privacy-protecting, locally-prioritized applications; user-controlled social media platforms; financial instruments that do not encourage 50x leverage or sports betting; open and friendly AI tools; and DAOs pursuing unique goals. He concluded: “Stay sovereign, reject corposlop, and believe in somETHing.”
