Hong Kong Midday Market Update: Hang Seng Indexs Rally in the Morning, Closing Up 0.75%; Rare Earth and Steel Sectors Lead Gains
Hang Seng Index After falling more than 500 points yesterday, the market opened slightly higher this morning and rebounded. Trading was volatile early on, with a modest rally in the latter part of the morning session, though gains were capped by the 10-day moving average. The Hang Seng Tech Index opened higher but retreated briefly before strengthening ahead of the midday break.As of the midday close, the Hang Seng Index rose 0.75% to 26,790.23 points, while the Tech Index gained 0.34% to 5,288.47 points. Hang Seng Index reported a total market turnover of HK$122.273 billion.In terms of sector performance, steel and rare earth sectors led the gains, while domestic property and shipping sectors stood out. AI applications and new consumer sectors showed mixed performance, and the storage sector saw the largest declines. Among individual stocks, Jinli Permanent Magnet (06680.HK) closed up 6.37%,Ansteel (00347.HK) closed up 6.09%, Longfor Group (00960.HK) closed up 4.6%, Haidilao (06862.HK) closed up 5.76%,Zhipu (02513.HK) closed down 5.97%, Mixue Group (02097.HK) closed down 2.25%, and Lanchi Technology (06809.HK) closed down 6.48%.
