IoTeX Releases IIP-56 Proposal: Deprecating CIOTX and Offering a 1:1 Claim-for-IOTX Exchange
Svmuu News: IoTeX has released Governance Proposal IIP-56, proposing to fully deprecate CIOTX on the Ethereum, Base, and Solana networks and permanently shut down the relevant cross-chain bridges.Previously, on February 20, the ioTube cross-chain bridge was attacked, resulting in unauthorized minting of CIOTX on Ethereum. These irregular mintings will not be recognized.According to the proposal, eligible holders must submit their transaction hashes via the official claims portal. Upon verification, IOTX will be distributed on the IoTeX mainnet at a 1:1 ratio. The BSC, Polygon, and IoTeX mainnets were not affected by the abnormal issuance. The relevant cross-chain bridges will be temporarily reactivated after the audit is completed to allow users to migrate their IOTX back, after which they will be permanently taken offline.Concurrently, the project team will notify centralized and decentralized exchanges, as well as DeFi protocols, to remove CIOTX integrations.
