Svmuu News According to the Snapshot page, Aave is currently voting on an ARFC proposal to "reduce the annual buyback budget from $50 million to $30 million," with a current approval rate of 99.37%.
The proposal states that the lending fee revenue for the Aave DAO has decreased by approximately 25% from its peak. Revenue in January 2026 was $7.95 million, lower than the $13.5 million in January 2025. Meanwhile, the optimistically estimated operational budget for 2026 is $190 million. Compared to the annual revenue of $142 million in 2025, this would result in a structural deficit. Therefore, adjusting the buyback plan is a necessary step to ensure operational sustainability.
If the ARFC proposal passes, the next step will be to advance to the formal AIP voting stage.
