Tencent President Martin Lau Responds to WeChat Agent Progress: No Specific Timeline Currently
Svmuu News Tencent President Martin Lau responded to the latest progress of the WeChat agent. He stated that over the past period, Tencent has already experimented with many AI features within WeChat. The hope is to conduct a preview within WeChat first, paving the way for the future WeChat agent. WeChat has close contact with users, a very rich ecosystem, and offers a relatively good business model, enabling many practical applications. It is believed this will allow different partners to benefit. Martin Lau mentioned that there are still many challenges in this process. For example, protecting user privacy and security, and the fact that current general-purpose models are not easily able to solve many of WeChat's unique functions, still requiring further improvement in model capabilities. Furthermore, WeChat's user base is very large, requiring very high inference capabilities to support such a user scale. There is currently no specific timeline, but active progress is being made.
