"6 Million Barrels of Crude Oil Futures" Contracts Sold 15 Minutes Before Trump's Post
Svmuu News According to Intercontinental Exchange data, contracts representing millions of barrels of oil were traded approximately 15 minutes before Trump's post about Iran, which caused crude oil prices to plummet by up to 14%. Starting at 6:49 AM ET on Monday, within two minutes, at least 6 million barrels of Brent and WTI crude oil futures contracts were sold. The average trading volume during the same period over the past five trading days was about 700 lots (equivalent to 700,000 barrels). Trump's post was published around 7:05 AM. (Jin10)
