FIFA President: Iran Will Still Participate in the World Cup and Play in the United States
Svmuu News FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated that despite the ongoing armed conflict between Iran and the United States, a co-host of the World Cup, Iran will still participate in the World Cup matches in the United States as scheduled in June. Infantino said he will do everything possible to support the Iranian team. According to the plan, Iran is scheduled to play all its Group G matches in the United States, with two matches in Los Angeles and one in Seattle. Previously, the Iranian Football Federation had been strongly advocating for moving the team's three World Cup group stage matches from the United States to Mexico. The Iranian Ministry of Sports has prohibited national and club sports teams from traveling to countries it deems hostile until further notice.
