Svmuu News Goldman Sachs analysis points out that although global oil is not depleted, there are increasing signs that pressure is continuously building. In the worst-case scenario, localized "oil shortages" and price spikes are bound to intensify. According to Goldman Sachs' report, the direct impact of this supply disruption is most evident in Asia, as several countries in the region are heavily reliant on imports of refined oil products from the Persian Gulf.
Nevertheless, the bank has not directly labeled this turmoil as a "structural supply crisis." Major economies like Japan still hold substantial strategic reserves, giving them more confidence to weather this storm. Goldman Sachs believes that broader markets can still maintain some flexibility by redirecting trade routes and drawing down inventories. Goldman Sachs thinks the world has not yet fallen into the desperate situation of oil depletion, at least not for now. However, if the supply disruption from the Strait of Hormuz persists for a prolonged period, localized "oil shortages" and price spikes are bound to intensify, especially in those regions most heavily dependent on imports.
