According to reports, Tesla is developing a new compact SUV that will be more affordable.
Svmuu News: Sources familiar with the matter have revealed that Tesla. is developing a brand-new, smaller, and more affordable electric SUV. In recent weeks, the company has been in contact with suppliers to discuss the details of this compact SUV, which will be an entirely new model rather than a variant of Tesla’s existing Model 3 or Model Y.One source stated that the compact SUV will be produced in China, while another indicated that Tesla also plans to expand production to the United States and Europe. The vehicle measures 4.28 meters (approximately 14 feet) in length, significantly shorter than Tesla’s best-selling Model Y SUV (approximately 15.7 feet). This comes after Musk decided to cancel the highly anticipated low-cost electric vehicle project in 2024 and shift the company’s focus toward robotaxis and humanoid robots.A key question is whether this latest attempt to develop a smaller SUV marks a strategic return to mass-market autonomous electric vehicles, or if the new vehicle will better align with Tesla’s vision for fully autonomous cars.According to sources and an employee, the model may serve both purposes. The employee declined to confirm or deny details about any specific model but stated that, overall, Tesla’s current goal is to build vehicles that are autonomous but offer a manual driving option.
