The IRGC Navy emphasized that any aggressive act by US forces in the region would be met with a resolute response. The statement did not specify the exact timing of the operation. Earlier on June 1st, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations reported that a cargo ship was hit by an unidentified projectile and suffered a violent explosion while navigating in the Persian Gulf near the southern waters of Iraq.
