Senate Republicans plan to release the final text of the CLARITY Act following a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump. Senator Bernie Moreno stated that the updated text will be released after the meeting, with the Senate aiming to consider the bill during the week of July 20.
The bill requires 60 votes in the Senate; Republicans currently hold 53 seats, so at least seven Democrats must support it. Democratic negotiators have stated that the draft to be submitted to the Senate floor is not the version they agreed to, with the dispute centered on ethics provisions related to President Trump’s business interests in the cryptocurrency industry.
