UBS: After a historic sell-off, we recommend gradually rebuilding positions in AI and semiconductor stocks
Svmuu News: According to data from UBS, hedge funds have reduced their long positions in momentum and semiconductor stocks by approximately 5% of total market value—one of the largest reductions on record—with net positions in semiconductor and software stocks falling back to April levels. UBS believes the sell-off in momentum stocks is nearing its end and expects it to bottom out by the end of July. It advises investors to gradually rebuild their positions in AI and semiconductor stocks. The recent rally in cyclical stocks such as banking and industrials has primarily been driven by short covering; if capital flows back into AI, these sectors will face downward pressure.
