Deposits and withdrawals have been suspended; Upbit has placed Zilliqa on its trading watchlist
Svmuu News: South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Upbit announced that the Zilliqa token (ZIL) has been added to its “Trading Alert” list, affecting the ZIL/KRW and ZIL/BTC trading pairs. Upbit stated that, in accordance with relevant provisions of South Korea’s “Virtual Asset User Protection Act,” the platform has identified potential security risks—such as hacking incidents that have not yet been identified or resolved—in the ZIL wallet or the distributed ledger on which its issuance, transmission, and storage rely. These risks could result in losses for users, prompting the platform to issue a risk warning. The announcement indicates that the “Trading Caution” period for ZIL will run from July 22, 2026, through the third week of August—specifically, August 17–21. During the review period, Upbit will assess the relevant risks in accordance with its policy on the termination of trading support and may extend the observation period, lift the warning, or terminate trading support. In addition, ZIL deposit and withdrawal services have already been suspended. Upbit stated that if services are restored in the future, withdrawal functionality will be prioritized; whether deposit services will resume will be announced separately based on the results of subsequent reviews. Currently, new deposits will not be credited, and related deposit transactions will be refunded.
