Svmuu News: The World Foundation, the nonprofit organization behind the World Protocol, announced the completion of a $52.5 million strategic funding round for WLD tokens, led by Pantera Capital, with participation from institutions including Bain Capital Crypto, WLD treasury company Eightco Holdings, Selini Capital, and Susquehanna Crypto.
The World Foundation stated that all WLD tokens sold in this round have been locked for one year and will be used exclusively for building the World Network ecosystem; they do not represent equity interests in Tools for Humanity. The funds will be used to promote World ID technology to enterprises, individual users, and AI agents.
World ID uses Orb biometric verification to prove that a user is a real human without exposing their identity. Currently, the World Network has over 39 million registered users, of whom more than 18 million have completed Orb verification. The platform has been integrated with Zoom, DocuSign, Okta, Vercel, Tinder, and other platforms. Following the completion of this funding round, the World project’s cumulative funding total has reached approximately $492.5 million.
