Iran reiterated the need to resume negotiations once the current impasse is resolved and stated its refusal to open a new shipping lane in the Strait of Hormuz. In addition, Iran has confirmed to Pakistan its willingness to continue negotiations (with the United States) in Geneva, Qatar, or Islamabad; it has also requested that talks resume on the Strait of Hormuz issue, followed by the issue of frozen funds, and finally the nuclear issue.
