Goldman Sachs: Fed's Decision Today Could Be Largest 'Surprise' Since 1997
Goldman Sachs stated that whatever the U.S. Federal Reserve decides today will mark the largest "surprise" at a non-rate-cut meeting since 1997. This assessment comes as interest-rate futures markets are pricing in only a one-third chance of a Fed hike. The firm added that a hike would constitute "the largest meeting-day surprise outside of cuts since the Fed started releasing statements to announce policy-rate changes."
