Stablecoin firm Brale launches ION Protocol to address custom token scaling challenges
Stablecoin infrastructure firm Brale has introduced ION Protocol, an interoperability solution designed to facilitate the movement of custom stablecoins across different blockchains. The protocol aims to overcome the current scaling limitations of bridge models, which require pre-funded liquidity pools on every supported chain, by adopting a burn-and-mint approach similar to Circle's CCTP. Brale CEO Ben Milne stated that the existing liquidity model is a major hurdle to scaling bespoke stablecoins, as the increasing number of issuers and blockchains makes it unsustainable.
