According to sources familiar with the matter, U.S. Republican Senator Thom Tillis and Democratic Senator Ruben Gallego have drafted new legislative language aimed at strengthening the cryptocurrency ethics restrictions in the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act.This section of the bill seeks to prohibit senior government officials from having direct ties to cryptocurrency projects. Previously, former U.S. President Donald Trump had agreed to a narrower version of a similar concept, but some Democrats considered it insufficiently stringent. The two senators hope the new wording will bridge the divide and secure enough votes in favor, but with the Senate’s August recess approaching, time is running out.
