German July CPI Rises Above Expectations, With National CPI at 2.8% Y/Y
Germany's Consumer Price Index (CPI) for July rose above expectations, with the national CPI increasing to 2.8% year-over-year, exceeding the estimated 2.7%. Month-over-month, the national CPI rose 0.8%, also higher than the 0.7% estimate. The EU-harmonised CPI (HICP) held at 2.8% year-over-year, matching estimates, but increased 0.9% month-over-month, surpassing the 0.8% forecast.
