Silicon Motion Technology (NASDAQ: SIMO) reported second-quarter sales of $451 million, surpassing its previous guidance of up to $411 million by 9.7% and marking a 127% year-over-year increase. The company also achieved a 32% sequential growth rate.
Looking ahead, Silicon Motion anticipates up to 20% sequential growth in Q3. CEO Wallace Kou emphasized the company is "building a resilient platform for sustainable, high-quality revenue and profitability growth for years to come," suggesting growth will extend beyond 2026. This outlook challenges the bearish view on the cyclical nature of the memory industry, aligning with similar multi-year revenue visibility strategies from other memory chipmakers like 美光 (Micron).
